Communication

Hi All,

I just spoke with Jennifer about past parent communication protocol as I don't want to be stepping over any bounds and she really encouraged me to just use the blog. I am sorry about the reply all messages on e-mail as I do know, like me, many of you have work e-mail, many may not use e-mail at all etc. Thanks for your patience.

Some news form Africa...Jennifer said she had talked with Leah today and that the girls had a great cultural exchange at the school they visited and that everyone was feeling up and getting ready for dinner.

Take care,

Kim

  1. Hi, was everyone able to receive a phone call yesterday? Morgan was able to reach
    Gary at work.
A few tears on both ends of the line at the begining... She talked about animals, visiting the school, and was excited about dancing they saw in one of the towns.

We are hoping she will be able to blog soon.

A parent from a previous trip told me it is fun for parents to read blogs from other girls on the trip. Morgan's is .. Morgangoestoafrica@bolgspot.com...

We are anxiously awaiting more stories.

  2. We received an early AM (1:30 here -10:30AM there) phone call from Laurel. After 2 tries, the numbers she gave to call her right back kept connecting to a hotel in Livingstone??? The third # worked and she sounded happy and excited (no homesickness detected). They were to visit Victoria Falls today, then Tuesday, travel on to Chobe Nat'l Park.
Late Thursday night, we had received an email from Laurel and she talked about visiting the school and village in Singazwonge-"amazing", not swimming in Lake Kariba due to crocs and hippos in the water, their driver & cook -"food is great and they are teaching them so much", seeing lots of animals, and the "very long & bumpy ride to Livingstone - beautiful".
Classes seem to be engaging and she's thankful for the study hall every night - busy schedule.

It was great to get that 1st email directly from Laurel.
Before that, the updates from Jennifer R and the photos sent from DC (where I caught glimpses of my happy girl)have been reassuring.
